Small town inept board of government

Morristown is a quiet place and that is a positive.

Government tries to change that with useless ideas.

However the town board does not have the interest of the citizens as their priority.

The board hides agendas from the citizens and attempts to cover up problems with various grants. The board attempts to force citizens in to programs that cost the citizens thousands of dollars yearly in fees. None of the board members live in the affected area of the forced programs.

They forced a sewer system on River Road citizens and said it was for a conference center that never happened and never will. They removed a bridge that was there from the 1800’s to open up a useless bay. The town water system needs millions of dollars in repairs and they are trying to mandate citizens with wells to sign up and then pay hundreds of dollars in fees to use it.

Local taxes are extremely high and there are no supplied services except road maintenance. Citizens pay for fire protection, there is no law enforcement.

Local government works a 4 day work week so they get 3 days off. How does that serve the public?

There is a fire chief on the board that voted to give his fire company a large increase in the fees it receives in taxes on the citizens.

You cannot get a cup of coffee or breakfast in Morristown or purchase fuel for a vehicle. There is no morning restaurant or service station.

There is a museum that always has it hands out for donations as do the paid for fire companies.
