Beauty, Health and Tranquility

We moved to Ligonier to live on a farm, raise our children, and enjoy a healthy outdoor life. We wanted to be close to the civility and quaintness of Ligonier. The charming “Best Small Town in America” has the great advantage of being well situated in a pleasant valley that’s protected by the rugged ridges of the Laurel Highlands. The Ligonier Valley is a scenic rural area twenty five miles long with rolling hills, and lively streams teeming with fish. The people are active and lovers of the outdoors. It is a place where people are self-reliant with a civic ethic, they are good neighbors and willing volunteers. Ligonier’s historic heritage is cherished and it’s legacy is perserved as a very significant gateway during America’s Colonial Era. The area has farmer and miner roots, yet it receives positive benefits by being a haven for wealthy families seeking relaxation, tranquility and safety. Great fortunes were made from steel and coal in Pittsburgh as it was the “forge of the world”. Ligonier was a good and pleasant place to retreat, have a weekend home, and for retirement. Ligonier is a lovely little town reminicent of New England. There are charming shops and some fine restaurants. People come from near and far to enjoy many the town’s events and festivals. Ligonier is the home of Pennsylvania’s largest farm and craft market on Summer weekends. It is low key and casual and a great place for walking, hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, horseback riding and polo.
