Our family is comprised of mixed races. This town is full of racist white locals. Don’t come up here if you a person of color. It’s been a horrible experience. Cost of living is so stressful. We’ve moved 5 times in one year just trying to afford the cost of housing.

Everything this site says about Granby is wrong. Moved here last year around July and there was two stabbings, in the area. Cost of living is insane. It is not diverse at all. Locals are racists. So racist. The town has nothing to do. Livability is a joke, they barely take care of the town, potholes everywhere, that will destroy your car. Homeowners are gouging people with what they charge in rent. 4,000 for one bedroom, one bath is insane. Nothing fun to do that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. They act like they’re some fancy resort, and it’s a dirty town. Locals don’t like you by the way. If you’re not one of them, and from there you’re an outsider. And will be treated as such. I’m from Denver, and they act like I don’t belong here. The localism/racism is disgusting. So glad to be leaving this dirt hole at the end of the month. Longest most stressful year.

Don’t listen to any of these websites. Anyone who says Granby is great is a tourist. The town is dirt, literally. Everything’s covered in dust and dirt. During winter seasons everything is closed, the town is all but dead. The town acts as if they’re a resort town with the amount people are aloud to charge for rent. They are no Winter Park, by any means. And for sure, no where near a Breckenridge or Estes Park. But they think they can charge rent that is any where from $2,500 to $20,000 (not a typo) for a two bedroom one bath house. Buying a home is a joke, because they can take it from you at anytime if they want to use the land. Read about the Killdozer, the town is crooked and dirty. Most houses are bulit like junk, slapped up and not even insulated. The water pressure in homes and buildings sucks, literally everywhere. It is a humongous lie saying there is diversity. Sure diverse in that all the workers are people of color who can’t afford to live in the city and commute in from Silverthorne or Denver. Outside of that it is all white people walking the streets and making the decisions in the town. Most those people seem and act like miserable racists as well. The only other time you see people of color is during the jazz festival in Frasier, the next town over. Because again nothing happens in Granby. Even then its funny watching all the store owners put on their fake nice faces so they can take the tourists money. And believe me they talk trash as soon as you turn around. The food in the town in not anything amazing. Debbie’s is their pride and joy and it’s crappy “fast food.” There is nothing normal to do for kids or adults. You’ll have to drive 2 hours any direction to do that. Trees aren’t enough to say this paces deserves the praise it gets. It’s a tourist trap plain and simple, with out them the town is nothing.

My family has lived here since 1938.. Grand county Colorado is a very racist predigest place. We are one of only a few colored families in this place for a reason. Not welcome do not move here unless you are white….
