Perfect mix of Colorado mountain living and city life!

We first bought a little fixer-upper cabin as a weekend getaway in Cripple Creek 16 years ago—walking distance from town where all the 24/7 activities and entertainment is, yet with enough land around us to have some privacy and enjoy watching local wildlife…and it was CHEAP! You wouldn’t be able to buy a foot of property in any ski town or any other Colorado mountain town for the incredible bargains you can find here!

Fortunately we can live anywhere working from home, and we spent more and more time here, and decided to move here full time. We then also bought the house across the street and fixed that up as well, as we needed more space for our offices and full time living. We love it.

People are tight knit—even if they disagree, they are good to each other in general. We seem to be a town to live and let live, but we also try to keep each other in check if someone is being inconsiderate with how they are keeping up with (or not) their property appearance..as trash and litter affect the entire neighborhood. We have a city supported volunteer litter pick up program to keep things looking nice too!

I like to say Cripple Creek has a lot of character—and a lot of characters!

Most people mind their own business, but many also seem always ready to lend a hand, too.

You can be poor or rich here, no one seems to care or treat anyone differently based on their apparent economic status, and the cost of living is very inexpensive. We have a city shuttle that transports people to/from work or picks you up at your door and takes you to the casino—or wherever you want to go! ATV’s are legal to drive on the streets in town too!

If you appreciate nature, there is abundant wildlife (keep an eye on pets!). There is a fabulous Mountain View Park with frisbee golf course, BMX track, hiking/mountain bike trails, a dog park, etc! There is ALWAYS something to do here! Local rock clubs take you on field trips to dig up cool mineral specimens. And the police and firemen are generally extremely quick to respond.

Overall, you can enjoy a little bit mountain living and a little bit city living right here in one place. But you better hurry up and claim your spot—we are filling up fast, and will probably triple in size within the next few years!
